On October 16, the Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, and Fourth grade students put on a great show for their grandparents as a part of our Grandparent's Day celebration. The students worked very hard preparing songs about baseball in hopes of cheering on our St. Louis Cardinals during the play-offs. Though our baseball team didn't make it, the students were still happy to honor our Central Division Champions. Way to go St. Clement students for an excellent performance!!!

On November 8, our Fourth Grade class was invited to sing at our St. Clement School Book Fair at Barnes and Noble. The students did an outstanding job singing their song called "Baseball Fever" by Cristi Cary Miller. A big thank you to all of the parents who brought your children to sing for our book fair! I am so pleased that so many of you came to support your children, our school, and our music program.

On November 13, our Second Grade students sang a special song, "God Bless America," honoring our veterans. The students sang at the flagpole following a special Veteran's Day Mass. They sang beautifully; way to go Second graders! Thank you veterans for your service to our country!

On December 17 and 18, our Kindergarten, Third Grade, and Sixth Grade students welcomed baby Jesus with our annual Advent program. The Sixth Grade students read the beautiful Nativity story according to the gospels of Luke and Matthew. Each grade sang several songs, and the Third and Sixth grade students played instruments as well. Beautiful job, St. Clement students!

On January 14, the Seventh Grade Music Explo students ended their semester with a performance for the primary students, select Explo classes, and their parents. The students practiced Christmas music from around the world as they celebrated Advent in their hearts. The students got to sing and play instruments. The instruments included were glockenspiel, metallophone, xylophone, triangle, maracas, hand drum, and conga drums. Great job, Seventh grade!!!

On Wednesday, March 24, St. Clement had the honor of hosting the annual Elementary School Song Festival for the Archdiocese. St. Gerard Majella, Visitation Academy, and Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill came to perform in our Parish Center/Gymnasium. They all sang very well! Mr. Lederle, director of Fine Arts in the Archdiocese, came to be our adjudicator. The adjudicator's job is to lead the students in songs of prayer and to give them constructive feedback about their performance. The festival is a way that schools can come together to praise God and celebrate his gift of music in our lives; it is not a competition. Mr. Lederle really liked our Sixth grade students, and commented that we had great stage presence, actions, rhythmic ability, dynamics, and use of instruments. Way to go St. Clement students! You not only performed well, but also were great ambassadors to St. Clement!!!

On Wednesday, May 5, our Fourth grade class performed with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in the annual "Link Up" Program. Many schools from the St. Louis Area joined them to play recorder and sing! The students really enjoyed hearing the symphony play, and also were excited to play along with the symphony!
